Automation Mastery: n8n, Make, and Zapier
Build 5 real workflows across the three major automation platforms. Lead enrichment, content pipelines, weekly reporting, and more — live in your actual stack by Week 6. Get started — join Bodega Pass
Who this course is for
Operators who want to be able to automate anything in their stack — not just run one workflow someone else built. By the end of this course, you can design, build, debug, and maintain automation workflows without a tutorial for every new use case. If you want to become the person your team turns to for "can we automate this?" — this is the course.
What you'll build
5 complete, live workflows — one for each of the core automation use cases operators encounter most often. Each is built to run in your actual business stack, not a sandbox with fake data.
Course structure
| Week | Platform | Workflow you'll deploy |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | n8n | Lead Enrichment Pipeline — new CRM lead → enriched record with company data, LinkedIn signals, and ICP score, automatically |
| Week 2 | Make | Content Publishing Pipeline — draft in Notion → AI-edited, SEO-tagged piece formatted for your CMS and queued for publish |
| Week 3 | Zapier | Weekly Digest Workflow — scheduled AI reporting pulled from your analytics and CRM, delivered to Slack or email |
| Week 4 | n8n (advanced) | Support Ticket Summarizer — resolved ticket → structured knowledge base entry, automatically |
| Week 5 | Make (advanced) | Onboarding Sequence — new signup → AI-personalized 7-day welcome email sequence starts automatically |
| Week 6 | Your stack | Custom workflow — you design and build one for your own use case using what you've learned |
Platform coverage
- n8n — the most powerful option; self-hosted, no usage limits, handles complex logic and custom code nodes
- Make — the visual-first option; the best interface for complex data transformations and scenario management
- Zapier — the most connected option; the widest app library and the fastest to configure for simple workflows
What's included
- Video lessons — one per workflow, showing the build from blank canvas to live
- Pre-built workflow files — the 5 completed workflows you'll configure and adapt as your starting point
- Automation design framework — the 4-step process for designing any automation before you open the tool
- Debugging playbook — the 7 most common automation failure modes and how to diagnose and fix each one
- AI prompt integration guide — how to add an AI step to any workflow you build, with reusable prompt patterns
- Community access — share workflows and compare approaches with other operators
Prerequisites
Basic familiarity with automation tools is helpful — you should have at least opened n8n, Make, or Zapier before. If you have never used any automation tool, complete AI for Non-Technical Operators first.
Time commitment
6 weeks. 2 hours per week. Self-paced. Each week is centered on one workflow build.
Common questions
- Do I need accounts on all three platforms?
- You will need n8n (the desktop version is free), Make (free tier covers the course), and Zapier (free tier for testing; Starter plan for the production workflow). You will also need an API key from OpenAI or Anthropic for the AI integration steps.
- Do I need to complete all 5 workflows?
- The workflows build on each other — concepts from Week 1 apply in Week 4. The most value comes from building all 5. Each workflow is also documented as a standalone build if you need to jump to a specific one.
- Will I be able to build automations I haven't seen before?
- That is the goal of Week 6. The automation design framework is the transferable skill — it is how you decompose any process into a workflow before you open the tool. By Week 6, you will use it to build an automation for a process you have never automated before.
